If you enjoy problem solving and are good with people this could be the ideal opportunity to build on your skills, learn new ones and join a friendly and supportive team. You will be providing advice to people in your local community to address a range of issues around housing, employment, benefits, debt, relationship breakdown, immigration and consumer issues – helping them source the right information to quickly find a solution or referring them on for more specialist advice.
Can you give three hours a week to meet and greet our clients and help our drop-in and appointment service run smoothly. You need a calm, friendly manner, an organised approach, good communication skills and basic computer literacy.
Finally, if you are looking for a more flexible opportunity, we are always looking for people who can initiate and develop fundraising activities to further our work at Citizens Advice. We have a successful annual golf day and quiz night but would welcome new ideas and assistance to improve the sustainability of our organisation and increase the range of services.
Our team of approximately 18 staff and 40 volunteers depend on our technology to provide an efficient and effective service so keeping us online, connected and operational is important. If you have 5-8 hours a week to spare, that’s where you can help with your technical know-how and experience. We can be flexible about the time spent and how often you volunteer, (although this would be within normal office hours of 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday) so come and talk to us.
You don’t need specific qualifications but you will need a background in IT and a willingness to learn and help others.
If you would like to apply for any of the above vacancies or are just interested in finding out more, please complete our Volunteer Registration form online or telephone 01276 417 900 for further information.
