Citizens Advice Surrey Heath (CA-SH) is an independent charity providing free, confidential and impartial advice on a wide range of issues. We are part of a national network but operate as a local organisation, delivering services tailored to our community’s specific needs. We also act as “the people’s champion” by helping individuals find their way forward and by speaking up to improve systems for everyone.
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Interim Chief Officer to lead our team in Camberley. This is a unique opportunity to shape the future of a vital community service, working closely with our Trustee Board to deliver high-quality, confidential advice to those who need it most.
As Chief Officer, you will be the face and voice of CA-SH. Reporting to the Chair of the Trustee Board, you will take on a pivotal role in leading our mission and driving our strategic priorities.
Your main focus will be on external relationships and income development. You’ll be responsible for building strong relationships with our funders and the wider Surrey Heath community. A key priority for the coming year will be to grow and diversify our income base by securing new projects, writing funding applications, and exploring new partnerships.
At a pivotal time for our charity, you’ll also be instrumental in exploring opportunities to potentially integrate with other local Citizens Advice in Surrey to ensure long-term sustainability and strengthen our impact, in line with the new Unitary Authority structure.
Working in collaboration with our Operations Manager, you will be involved in managing our dedicated team of staff and volunteers, ensuring they are empowered and supported to deliver the best possible service.
We need a proven leader with a strong background in the voluntary sector, preferably with a Citizens Advice background. You should have a track record of successful income generation and project management, and be skilled in financial and people management. Most importantly, you are an excellent communicator with the ability to build trust and inspire a team.
